As described in our last blog post, we’d been anchored in Puerto Real for several days awaiting our upcoming weather window to make the 925 mile, 6-day passage from southwest Puerto Rico to Key West, Florida. Key West – Chickens, Cats & Clothing (Optional)

After catching up on sleep following our journey from Ft Myers Beach to Key West (catch up here), we settled into our spot in the mooring field at Garrison Bight and set out to experience the eccentricity of Key West. Our arrival coincided with a special weekend aboard Galatea – our newest crew member Emily’s birthday weekend! Deep Dive: Florida’s Red Tide

We were on the hard in Ft.
